This is our most adventurous journey! For those who want to take it to the next level and experience something unique. On this trip you will experience the Alps around Chamonix and Courmayeur and climb alpine classics such as Aiguille dÉntreves and Cosmiques Arete. Here, the focus is on the experience and the climbing in the mountains as well as photography in unique environments. We will be at high altitude and climb every day with our IFMGA guides, sleep in mountain huts and take pictures together. An experience beyond the ordinary!
In addition, Emma Svensson, who is your tour guide, will take cool pictures of you as you climb. Since Chamonix is her second home, she knows exactly where the best pictures are taken.
Join us July 1-5, 2020 on this summer’s biggest adventure!
This trip requires that you have some experience of glacier walking / easier climbing and that you are not too scared of heights as we will climb on exposed ridges (your guide will be responsible for your safety during climbing and make sure you are safe). In terms of photography, you do not need more knowledge than you have a little control over basic settings on your camera.
We meet in the morning at 8am in Chamonix to do an equipment check and if something is missing / needs to be rented we fix it. Then we take the lift up at Flegere and climb the first route of the trip, graded PD. This means that it is a perfect warm-up for us at a height of about 2000 meters for the week. We learn to climb with running belay, rappelling and climbing in boots. We then hike to Lac Blanc to photograph and spend the night in a mountain hut for acclimatization. Dinner included.
We wake up early and head down to Chamonix to transport ourselves to the Italian side of Mont Blanc: Courmayeur. Here we take the lift up to Helbronner which will be our base for the next few days. Here we are at 3600 meters. Today’s challenge is to climb Aiguille Marbrees, a traverse over a ridge, graded PD+ for the route we do. Our knowledge from yesterday will come in handy but now we also use crampons to get over the glacier. After the climb we go to Tornio Hut where we have dinner and spend the night. Sunset photo from the terrace over the Mont Blanc massif.
We make an alpine start and eat an early breakfast and then photograph in the sunrise from the top of a small mountain. We then continue towards Aiguille dÉntreves which is today’s challenge! An exposed but fantastic ridge (where you get really cool pictures). Graded AD- it is slightly more difficult than what we climbed before. From time to time you will balance on the toe tips. But don’t worry, your guide will take care of you and make sure you are safe. After the climb, we return to Torino hut for a well-deserved three course dinner.
We wake up early another day and today it is time to climb the Tour Ronde. A 3792 meter high mountain. We will climb the SE ridge which is graded AD, so again again the difficulty and the challenge will be slightly increased. It will be a fun day on both glacier and rock climbing. We also spend this night in Torino hut.
Today it is time to head to Aiguille du Midi, either by lift (if it is running) or we will cross the glacier by foot to get there. It’s time to climb a real classic: Cosmiques Arete! Grade AD. Afterwards we stop for a while for photography and then we take the lift back to Chamonix where we end the journey.

You need good fitness to be able to participate in this trip as we will be out in the mountains and climb about 6 hours a day for several days in a row.
You also need your own technical equipment for mountaineering: Shoes, iron, ice ax, harness, helmet, headlamp, poles and weather clothing. If you are missing something there is a place to rent in Chamonix, we will assist you in that case.
We will be at altitudes up to 4000 meters and then altitude sickness may occur. We will follow an acclimation plan to be as prepared as possible but symptoms such as headaches and nausea may occur. For symptoms that do not go away with an ordinary paracetamol, the only solution is to go down to lower altitude to feel good again. Helicopter rescue works well and quickly in the Alps in case of acute problems on the mountain.
